DELIVERY COSTS
We make a separate charge for delivery to your home and this varies according to the product ordered. You can easily see how much delivery of your chosen item(s) will be by adding these to the basket in our online store.
As you start the checkout process the total delivery charge will be shown.
Please note delivery charges to Scotland and Offshore will be higher due to the distance for the delivery.
DELIVERY AREAS…
We deliver to all areas in mainland UK, plus:
Northern Ireland
UK Offshore Islands – including: Scottish Islands*, Isle of Wight, Scilly Isles.
Channel Islands
EIRE
*Isle of Skye is still considered to be an offshore island as the carrier companies charge us more for delivering to this area.
DELIVERY LEAD TIMES
Whenever possible Sit 'n' Sleep endeavours to deliver (or have ready to collect) all customer orders within *10 working days of receiving an order. Pine bases ordered with a colour stain finish will take a little longer in production and therefore the timescale for contacting customers to arrange delivery/collection will be at approx 15 working days from receipt of an order. However, if you have particular delivery date requirements please email or telephone us so we hopefully do not disappoint.
* This timescale can vary in some circumstances due to delivery area.
Many items are in stock in selected fabrics/colours and are available, if required, for Immediate Despatch depending on the time of day that we receive an order. If you have an urgent requirement please call us BEFORE placing an order so that we can discuss the options available to you.
YOUR ORDER IS READY TO LEAVE US…
ALL deliveries are booked with customers.
Calls to arrange a delivery are made by one of the following:
(A) By the Sales office at Sit ‘n’ Sleep – for these items a call will be made when any production work is nearing completion and an order is soon to be ready to leave us.
We will have sent you an Order Confirmation e-mail advising that we expect to be in contact within a few days to discuss the delivery arrangements. Once we have spoken with you, and agreed a delivery day, we will send a further e-mail to confirm the details. This e-mail also states the name of the delivery company and the delivery procedure.
(B) For some products the call to arrange a delivery is made by one of our contracted delivery companies – for these items a call will usually be made once they have collected the goods from our warehouse.
We will have sent you an Order Confirmation e-mail, which also states ‘Please see separate e-mail for delivery information’. On the same day we will send a second e-mail advising you of the day that the order will be collected from our warehouse and that we expect our delivery company to be in contact within a few days of that to discuss the delivery arrangements. This e-mail also states the name of the delivery company and the delivery procedure.
ON THE DAY OF DELIVERY…
All deliveries need to be signed for. A delivery must be checked to ensure that all packages that we have despatched to you have been received – the number of packages that we have sent is printed on the delivery company paperwork. Packages should also be checked for any signs of obvious transit damage – any damage to packaging must be noted on the delivery company paperwork. Customers are not expected to unpackage the goods in the presence of the delivery driver to check the contents – the delivery driver cannot wait whilst this is done.
SMALL ITEMS…
Customers may find it more convenient to have small items (e.g. Zipits, Removable Covers, Futon Mattresses) delivered to a work address as this avoids the need for someone to wait at a residential address to accept the delivery.
SATURDAY DELIVERIES…
Saturday deliveries are available for some products to some areas. Please call us to check availability in your area and for a quote as Saturday deliveries, where available.
DELIVERY SERVICE...
Sit ‘n’ Sleep uses different delivery companies/services depending on the product ordered. In most cases the delivery is a 1-person service and each delivery company is contracted/obliged to deliver only to the ground floor entrance of the delivery address. If customers cannot manage to move the packages on their own they should make arrangements for assistance to be on hand on the day of delivery. For certain products delivered to certain areas it may be possible for a delivery to be made to floors above ground level (by a 2-person service) but this MUST be discussed with Sit ‘n’ Sleep BEFORE the delivery day – this service, where available, incurs an additional charge.
