At Sit and Sleep we don’t just sell futons and sofa beds, we also design and make them in our Cambridge futon workshop here in the UK.

Together the owners of Sit and Sleep have been making futons and sofa beds for over 30 years – so we have a wealth of experience to offer you.
For many years, we were a wholesale supplier of futons to furniture retailers throughout the UK. In addition, we were the largest manufacturer of futons to the UK’s mail order trade, so you can rest assured with all that experience, we know a lot about futons and sofa beds.
With the advent of internet shopping in the early 2000’s we decided to specialise in customer-direct sales, giving a selection of sofa bed designs in a wide choice of fabrics and colours at excellent factory-direct prices.
Together with our partnerships with Scandinavian suppliers Innovation Living and SoftLine of Denmark, and Prostoria of Croatia we have brought together a collection of quality contemporary European-designed sofa beds.
Sit and Sleep futons and sofa beds
From the simple yet effective Stakka futon, to the clever self-lifting Traditional futon, which gives a normal bed sleeping height, to the completely ingenious Kewb chair-table-bed. You won’t find any of our own-made futon products anywhere else.
Our design philosophy has always been to “think again” not simply for the sake of it, but to make our futons and sofa beds better.
Our unique range of fully front-operated Advaans futon system sofa beds offers the charm of a wooden base with the quick, simple operation of a metal one.
Many of our models have storage built-in too so you can make the most of your living space.

Responsibly Sourced Timber
All the timber we used is sourced from certified sustainable forest plantations.
Simple Recyclable Packaging
We do not use bleached white card or print onto our packaging with un-necessary and harmful inks. In addition we are migrating our packaging stocks to packaging made from recycled components
UK Supplied Materials
Our futon fillings are all sourced from suppliers manufacturing in the UK to minimise the impact of carbon emissions on transportation and energy.
Made in the UK
We make all of our futons here in our own workshops in Cambridgeshire. Therefore any part can be simply replaced should it be needed so all our products can last as long as possible. We also offer replacement futon mattress covers – or even replacement mattresses so that your futon sofa bed can have a long service life.
