What are the advantages of a Daybed?

Daybeds are a great space-saving dual-use piece of furniture. A daybed forms a comfortable sofa which can be used as a single bed with no or minimal conversion.

Are daybeds difficult to convert to a bed?

A daybed is space saving as it can be placed alongside a wall and takes up less floor space than a sofa bed or traditional sofa. Some models include a backrest bolster or cushions to make a cozy spot for reading or lounging.

Many of our daybeds only need the armrests to be adjusted flat to create the full sleeping length – just takes a few seconds – for example ROLLO; GHIA; ZEAL. Other daybeds need no conversion to be used as a bed instead of as a sofa – for example SLEEP; FRAME;

Are daybeds comfortable?

As the mattress on a daybed doesn’t need to fold-out to make the bed configuration, the daybed mattress can be made thicker and generally more supportive than some convertible sofa beds. In which rooms are daybeds often used?

Daybeds are most often used in rooms in which you need dual function for example the home office. As daybeds are generally have a compact footprint they can provide comfortable seating in the office – but still give a great sleeping experience for guests when the office is used as a spare bedroom.

Other locations for daybeds are for additional seating when its also nice to be able to lie down for a snooze – for example conservatories or garden rooms.

Daybeds make good accent pieces of furniture in hallways and larger lounges with the combination of a contemporary daybed design with a “statement” fabric colour or fabric texture.
