Naturally Fire-Safe SNUG Sofa Bed

Our SNUG fully-upholstered futon sofa bed is now available as a chemical-free Naturally Fire-Safe version.

Complete with all the comfort of a futon sofa with a full-size double bed, the upholstery is specially made with a wool inter-liner and using upholstery fabrics composed of natural fibres which avoids the need for the upholstery fabric to have added fire retardant chemcials.

The SNUG is a true sofabed-futon.

Front conversion from futon seat to futon bed.
Incorporating our Advaans folding system, this gives a very quick simple action from sofa to bed and back. No manual lifting of the futon mattress is needed.

The sleeping area of the Snug mattress is 137 x 190cm.

The maximum packing height clearance for the Snug StoreDrawer is 20cm.The Storage area under the front plinth of the Snug sofa bed (without drawer) is 100 x 50 x 20cm (w x d x h).

The SNUG sofa bed is despatched as four packages.

Three cardboard boxes containing the base:

107 x 73 x 31cm – 16Kg (Arms)

163 x 91 x 26cm – 19Kg (Plinth/Seat/Beam)

148 x 67 x 22cm – 15Kg (Back/Down)

The cushion set is rolled and bagged in heavy duty plastic.

Optional Store-drawer is pre-assembled and packed as a cardboard box:109 x 53 x 20cm 8Kg

Final assembly of the component sections of the SNUG is needed before use. This can be summarised into three separate stages:

1. Attach the arms rests to the beam under-frame.
2. Bolt the seat section and back/down section of the operating frame together.
3. Attach the operating frame to the beam under-frame.

All necessary fixings are provided in the assembly pack. You may find it easier to complete the assembly with the help of one other person. Finally just place the duo-futon mattress onto the assembled frame.

FoamLux Futon – The addition of a foam core to the mattress gives a more luxurious and resilient filling.

Our Naturally Fire Safe futons comply fully with the UK Fire Safety legislation for upholstered furniture.

As an alternative to using upholstery fabrics which are back coated with a fire retardant chemical, we make our Naturally Fire Safe futon mattresses using a 100% wool interliner under the upholstery fabric.  This wool interliner is “Schedule 3” compliant as a fire barrier as wool is naturally fire-retardant.

When covered with an upholstery fabric which is 100% composed of natural fibres – (Cotton, Hemp or Wool), this meets the requirements of the 1988 (Fire) (Safety) legislation as amended for upholstered furniture.

This product is generally kept in our stock and is usually despatched to our delivery partner within a few working days of us receiving an order, once your chosen mattress and options have been completed for you.

The lead time for despatch to delivery varies according to your geographic location.

The delivery date is pre-arranged with you.

Once your order has been despatched, a delivery day will be booked with you by our delivery partner together with an estimated time slot for your delivery. Note: Small items, such as futon covers and cushions, are sent by small parcel carrier and delivery is not pre-booked, however, you will receive text/email updates as the item moves through the system.

If you have a ‘must-have-by’ date, please give us as much notice as you can so we can prioritise production of orders and plan delivery accordingly to increase the possibility of meeting a date.
