Are the prices shown inclusive of VAT? Details
    Yes, on our website we show the prices inclusive of the current rate of VAT. If you proceed to placing an order you will see different (lower) prices in the shopping basket, these are the prices that were seen on the product pages but are now shown without VAT.  This is because the tax rates vary in the various areas that we can deliver to (e.g.the Channel Islands) and the applicable tax rate will now be added once you have selected your ‘Country for Invoicing’ and your delivery location.
Are your products delivered fully assembled? Details
    The majority of our products require some home-assembly. Currently, the KEWB and the STAKKA futon are the only products which are delivered fully assembled.
Can I pay by bank transfer? Details
    Yes, if placing your order online please select 'Pay over the telephone' from the shopping basket payment screen and then telephone us or send us an e-mail, stating your wish to pay by bank transfer, and we will give you our account details.
Can I pay by cheque? Details
    Yes, you can pay by cheque but the processing of payment, and therefore your order, takes considerably longer. It takes 10working days (approx) from the time of receiving a cheque to confirm that our bank has cleared the payment. Production, or ‘picking’ of stock, does not start until we have confirmation of payment from our bank. Customers who come to our showroom/warehouse and wish to take a product away with them cannot pay by cheque.
Can I specify a particular delivery day? Details
    Customers can request delivery of their order on a particular day and it is very rare that this cannot be accommodated, within production/despatch lead-time constraints. However, it should be understood that it is not always possible to achieve customer preferences due to the delivery address location within the delivery company’s schedule. Customers should give Sit and Sleep as much notice as possible to increase the achievability of a ‘must-have-by’ date.
Can you arrange for an item to be assembled upon delivery? Details
    Assembly of a product for customers is not a service that we offer as standard. Requests will be considered on an individual basis - customers can contact Sit and Sleep to see if this service is available in their delivery area. There is an additional charge if this service is available.
Can you tell me charges for delivery please? Details
    Our delivery charges vary by delivery location and by product purchased - for example there is a charge of £10 to delivery small items like removable covers to Mainland England and Wales while to delivery a whole sofa bed delivery would be £49.

We also offer an upper floor/room of choice delivery option to some postcode areas.  The availability will appear on checkout depending on your geographical location.

The easiest way to find out the delivery charge for your chosen product is to put the item(s) into the shopping basket.  Before checkout on the basket summary page - you can enter your UK post code and the delivery options and costs for your location and the items ordered will be shown.

Can your Removable / Detachable Covers be washed? Details
    It depends on the specific fabric that the Removable / Detachable Cover is made from. Our 'PRIME' fabric (available as an option on our self-made futon products) can be machine-washed at low temperature but all others are dry-clean only. Each cover has a fabric care label sewn in to it to illustrate the correct cleaning method.
Do you charge extra for credit card payments? Details
    No, there is no extra charge for any type of payment.
Do you deliver to Ireland? Details
    We  no longer deliver to Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland due to he complexities of exporting from mainland GB following Brexit and also due to the costs associated with these deliveries. 
Do you deliver to the Channel Islands? Details
    Yes. The delivery charge depends on the product that you order but the specific delivery charge is shown as you go through the shopping basket process, before you have to commit to placing an order and before you have to enter any payment details. Delivery takes a little longer.
Do you deliver to the Scottish Islands? Details
    Yes. The delivery charge depends on the product that you order but the specific delivery charge is shown as you go through the shopping basket process, before you have to commit to placing an order and before you have to enter any payment details. Delivery takes a little longer.
How do I know when my goods will be delivered? Details
    Sit and Sleep (or our contracted delivery companies) always contacts customers to agree a delivery day for their order.
I live in a block of flats, will the delivery company bring my order to the 3rd floor? Details
    Sit and Sleep uses different delivery companies/services depending on the product ordered. Generally speaking each delivery company is contracted/obliged to deliver only to the ground floor entrance of the delivery address. If customers cannot manage to move the packages on their own they should make arrangements for assistance to be on hand on the day of delivery. Depending on the product ordered and the delivery company that can be used to a specific delivery area it may be possible for us to arrange for the goods to be taken to floors above ground level – this will cost more than our standard delivery service. Customers who live above ground level should call Sit and Sleep to take advice before placing an online order. Failure to advise Sit and Sleep of a requirement for a delivery to floors above ground level - at the time of placing an order OR at the time of booking the delivery (delivery bookings are made either by Sit and Sleep or by one of our contracted delivery companies) may result in the delivery not being possible on the agreed day and may incur a second delivery charge.
I need an order delivered urgently what is the best way to place an order? Details
    If you need something urgently the best way to place an order is by telephone – that way we can discuss your requirements, take the order and arrange the delivery day at the same time. If your preference is for something that has a longer lead time than your ‘must-have-by’ date we can discuss alternatives that might be acceptable to you. If you don’t need an urgent delivery just place your order online, you will receive the standard order confirmation e-mail and Sit and Sleep (or our contracted delivery companies) will contact you to agree a delivery day.
Is my e-mail address used for any marketing or passed on to any other parties? Details
    No, your e-mail address is only used by Sit and Sleep in reply to a question that you send us, for Order Confirmation, contacting you to discuss your order and for Delivery Information of your order.
Is your site secure for credit card payment? Details
    Yes, if you pay by credit/debit card on line it is secure and we don’t see your card details at all, just a transaction reference. You can make payment by credit/debit card by telephone but you will need to read out your card details to a sales person at Sit and Sleep – if you choose this option we shred your details once we have processed the payment.
Some fabrics incur an upgrade charge, why is this? Details
    Some fabrics are more expensive for us to buy in and these fabrics therefore cost more to the customer. Sit and Sleep offers a range of different fabrics at various price levels to suit all requirements and tastes. The basic plain cotton drill fabrics do not incur any additional costs but most of the textured fabrics do.
We live in the Channel Islands so don’t pay VAT, can you supply an order to us that does not charge VAT? Details
    Yes,as you go through the shopping basket process the VAT payable is determined from the ‘Country for Invoicing’. So pricing for orders placed for delivery to the Channel Islands is automatically calculated by the shopping basket.
We work during the week so can we have a delivery at the weekend? Details
    Many of our products can be delivered on Saturdays but the availability of this option can also depend on the delivery area. Sit and Sleep uses different delivery companies/services depending on the product type ordered and the area for delivery – please call us if you would like to know if this service is available in your area. Saturday deliveries cost more than our standard weekday delivery service. Quotes are calculated on an individual basis.
What do you mean by Removable or Detachable Cover? Details
    Customers can select to have their choice of fabric for their futon mattress made as either a button-fixed (non-removable) cover or as a Removable Cover. Removable Covers fit over the futon mattress like a snug-fitting duvet cover and can be taken off for dry-cleaning whereas button-fixed covers cannot be removed and any cleaning that is required has to be done whilst still being buttoned in place.
What happens if I am not at the delivery address when the delivery company tries to deliver my goods? Details
    If a customer (or their representative) is not at the delivery address on the agreed day/time a re-delivery charge will apply – the re-delivery charge is calculated on an individual basis and may be greater than the delivery charge.
Where can I find the dimensions for a product that I am interested in? Details
    Diagrams of each model, both in sofa mode and bed mode (where relevant) with all of the dimensions are found in the ‘Dimensions’ tab below the main image(s) on each of the main pages of the respective products.
Will Sit and Sleep Removable Covers fit my futon mattress, which was bought somewhere else? Details
    Sit and Sleep Removable Covers are sized to fit Sit and Sleep futon mattresses, however they may well fit futon mattresses purchased elsewhere. Customers should measure their own futon mattress (in centimetres) and check these against the dimensions shown for Sit and Sleep futon mattresses. The dimensions are found in the 'Dimensions' tab below the main image on the ‘Futon Mattresses On Their Own’ page. Please call us if you need further advice.
